Officially opened in May 2026, but built on a passion that began decades ago.

My journey started in El Salvador, where I grew up in a family of bakers and developed an early love for creating things that bring people together. In 1986, I graduated from agricultural school in Nicaragua, and that same year established my very first apiary. Over time, that passion grew into more than 200 Africanized “killer bee” hives, giving me years of hands-on experience in beekeeping, honey production, and queen raising.

In 1995, I immigrated to the United States and eventually settled in Herndon, Virginia. Even while building a new life, beekeeping always remained close to my heart. What started as a hobby continued to grow through years of experimenting, raising queens, and even traveling across the country to share knowledge and speak about beekeeping.

Today, that lifelong passion has become a business rooted in tradition, hard work, and family heritage. At The Sweet Spot Co., our mission is simple: to bring high-quality products and a little more sweetness into everyday life.
